From wars and tensions to tariff threats, geopolitics now plays a larger role in portfolio decisions. To avoid international strife, investors realign capital with friendlier jurisdictions, rebalance asset allocations and deploy dynamic hedges. Is “Friendvesting” - or investing alongside allied geopolitical groups with shared economic and strategic interests - taking over global portfolios? Against this backdrop, Sebastian Schiele, Global Head of Passive Mandates Sales at DWS, and John Ferguson, Global Lead of New Globalization at Economist Impact, will discuss the findings of the new study by Economist Impact entitled “Friendvesting: The New Architecture of Investment in a Fragmented World” together with German Ambassador Sabine Sparwasser. Her expertise from 40 years of international diplomatic cooperation, most recently as German ambassador to Canada, illustrate the changes that have taken place and shed light on the challenges that lie ahead. The webcast will address the following topics: • The age of Friendvesting – embracing the new architecture of investment • How asset owners are perceiving and reacting to geopolitical risks across various public asset classes? • The role of asset managers in dynamic navigation along the evolving geopolitical risk landscape • Measure and mitigate - a brief glance at investors‘ view on geopolitical risk mitigation
