Electric and hybrid electric vehicles drastically reduce CO2 emissions, but bring their own NVH challenges. Increasing comfort, quality and reliability proves to be more complicated with the introduction of new powertrain technologies, engine and driveline subsystems. Wind noise and road noise are more prominent with no masking noise from the internal combustion engine.
Five 90-minute live sessions with open discussions are planned for this event:
- EV Sound Quality & Sound Design – Jan 11th
- EV Driveline NVH – Jan 12th
- EV Road Noise & Wind Noise – Jan 13th
- Body & Driveline Integration – Jan 14th
- EV Auxiliaries Noise – Jan 15th
What you will learn:
- Optimize electrical motor noise behavior while leaving electromagnetic performance unchanged
- Integrate electric power sources in the driveline while ensuring smooth operation with minimum NVH impact
- Tackle wind noise, road noise and those coming from auxiliaries
- Balance NVH and ride comfort with body weight

Steven Domm, who is Simcenter Director of Automotive Industry Solutions, will coordinate these sessions. Steven has been with Siemens Industry Software (former LMS International) for over 20 years, working in various areas of engineering, engineering management, product management and sales. He is currently responsible for developing Siemens Industry Software business in the automotive industry.
Experts from Simcenter Engineering Consulting Services, Research and Business Development will join Steven to share their personal EV / HEV experiences.
